Too busy to shop?

Just write a check payable to HelpKeepWarm.org  and send it to: HelpKeepWarm.org  P.O. Box 3257 Brandon, FL 33509-3257.  Or, we take all major credit cards. (When you donate to HelpKeepWarm.org online, your credit card information is secured by PayPal. Also, your credit card number is used only for that particular transaction and is not stored. This process is actually more secure than using a credit card at a store. If you have any questions regarding the security of your credit card donation online, please e-mail Contact Us or call (813) 404-2410 for more information.)

Please make all 2009 cash/credit donations by December 16 so we have time to purchase bags before the distribution day, December 20.

How Is Your Donation Budgeted?

Our goal is to keep 100 percent* or more of donations committed to our primary mission - buy sleeping bags! The remaining costs and activities (administration, (website, and distribution, public relations, accountanting, office expenses) are accomplished through volunteers or paid for by the founder. At the end of 2009, we will file our 990 as a  501(c)  organization. Once our 990 is filed, we will call organizations like Charity Navigator and asked to be reviewed if we make it up above the radar.

*Most well managed organizations, spend 85 percent or more on their program and 15 percent or less on administration and fundraisers. Evaluate Your Charity

Just 1 Example of Homeless Population.

Who are New York’s homeless? The great bulk of New York City’s homeless population are people in family groups (8,743 families in September 2006) made up of 13,316 children and 12,712 adults (mostly single mothers). The picture of homelessness is also more complicated. Another 5,493 are homeless single men, perhaps the most noticeable segment of the population. Learn more bout NY homeless demographics.

"I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me."   Matthew 25:35-36
