HelpKeepWarm.org
In Memory of Mark J. South (1954-2006)

Our mission is simple. To help keep the homeless warm during winter months by distributing sleeping bags each year just before the coldest days arrive.  As we grow HelpKeepWarm.org, our goals will always include guidelines to bring awareness to homeless conditions across America and to network with and support existing groups striving to put an end to homelessness.

In 2010, phase two will include a program to help pay heating bills during the coldest months to those that are not able to pay their electric or gas bills due to illness, job loss, divorce, medical/medication bills, increase in the cost of living, and other common reasons people live in their homes without heat. This program will be available to areas of the United States that have a history of harsh winters.

About one-third of the adult homeless population have served their country in the Armed Services.

Solutions to end homelessness take time. Until then, let's help the homeless stay warm!

The coldest months are usually around November through February, depending on what area of the country you live in. During this time, the meteorologists always remind us to bring in our animals to keep them warm and safe.  One night last year, I was listening to this report and looked over at Weiner and Ginger (my dogs) lying on their doggy beds by the fire place and thought, what about the homeless!

Until we walk in someone else's shoes, it would be next to impossible to understand how they got to where they're at.

Please join us to help keep the homeless warm, one sleeping bag at a time.

In faith and love,

Ricki South, Founder
